» The Challenge
Crystal City Entertainment (the documentaries “Paper Clips,” “The Hank Greenberg Story”) wanted to adapt the classic story of David and Saul into a feature film in the heightened, graphic style of the hit movie “300.” ACE was contracted to produce a graphic novel to bring this vision to life in book format, to seed the property commercially and to be a sexy presentation piece for investors.[IMAGES]

» Our Solution
ACE hired a best selling veteran comic book writer and paired him with an emerging artist. The resulting creative team mixed talent and affordability. They researched the Biblical tale and depicted the actual era authentically, to ensure visual fidelity to the tale. ACE provided post-production services to deliver final files, ready for publishing, and we used our network of contacts to help set up a publishing deal.

» The Results
A completed 96-page graphic novel was executed and is scheduled for publication in 2010. It’s gorgeous. The producer used both a PDF and a limited print run of the graphic novel to sell the film, and is currently in negotiations for first-round funding — even before the graphic novel has been published, exceeding expectations.
